Evolution is defined as the theory that all present species of plants and animals came from came from kinds that existed in the past, or the process of development in a plant or animal. Evolution doesn’t usually follow a straight path; it is more like a tree with branches- some grow longer and branch off more, others die out and end. Evolution for complex life forms is very slow. It may take 1,000 generations for the entire species to show the same favorable adaptation, and once a gene is lost, it is impossible to reintroduce the trait to the gene pool. 99.99% of all species of animals are extinct. Charles Darwin came up with the theory of Natural Selection, and Charles de Lamarck was the first to publically publish the theory of Evolution.
